One thing is certain, the folks down in the SE bayous below NOLA are getting it rough now.

Definite eye forming now. Norcross said on TWC that it is wobbling right now but expect wnw/nw movement to occur and this to slow way down and make landfall tomorrow morning right around Grand Isle. So if that happens plenty more time over water.

It should make landfall almost any time now, within another hour or so. You can see from the various radar images how close it is.

Giant 60 frame loop, worth watching but beware load times.

No, the center is still offshore. The outer ring is not the center of circulation.

Does anyone think it will make landfall in about 3-6 hours? It is very near to the coast now, probably less than 100 miles away.

Small center now looks just a tad to the right of the forecast point, as pointed out by WWL met on TV Carl A showing the latest radar loop....

This has been the most boring hurricane ever. We've barely had any wind or rain and I live in Biloxi right next to Keesler. I don't think I've seen a gust over 30 and no sustained wind to speak of. I think inland areas are getting the worst of it.

:uarrow: (The HRD analysis from WxGuy) That's another reason why KBVE (Boothville/Venice) hasn't gotten higher yet. Should come though...

Thanks! That's a pretty big area to his east with 70+ gusts.

Just had a quick moving little tornado here just to the east of Pensacola. Lights flickered...but hung on. Nasty wind and rain with this band over the Fla panhandle.

Look to me more like about 10 or 15 miles.

Maybe people have different ideas about what qualifies as land?
