I love that line of demarcation between Leslie's cloud canopy and Michael's. A cool sight.

At least he made it to major hurricane status for 12 hours.

Impressive storm considering its origins. Thought this was going to be a minimal weak storm but of course small storms suprise me.

Since its now a CAT2, I actually think I rather have seen this not become a major at all, now there is no weird streak of absence of majors for such a high number of TS's that formed already. That was something that could have kept things on edge for 2012...a dumb season.

Micheal was only briefly a CAT3 so I don't see it has a huge accomplishment for 2012 with how things are going for the ever increasing sad Leslie. Huge accomplishment for Michael, not so much for the overall season.

What more do you want - blood? Just say "Thank God" we had a major hurricane to impress us, and at the same time, it did not affect anyone.

Cyclenall, I kind of understand what you said...and I'm sorry if I was harsh in my last post, but we should be thankful for small mercies and gifts. :)

I'm no expert, everything I say should be taken with a large amount of salt. I could easily be very, very wrong.

Advisory: steady at 90 kt but conservative per discussion (Dvorak is poor with small storms so I would have gone 100 kt).

Not often you see a major hurricane that is non-tropical in origin. I wonder if there is a list of major hurricanes that are non-tropical in origin.
