Like I said before, Michael is the ugly duckling among hurricanes :D , a comparison of pre-Michael when nobody believed in him with Michael at peak intensity:

Best track shows that it weakened a bit, now down to 85 knots. The eye is still very large and intact, though.

Continues to maintain a great structure and a healthy eyewall. Never fails to impress. :)

Along with Leslie, Michael looks very annular right now.

Michael could be trying to become annular with the large, well formed eye and warm cloud tops, but he isnt right now. Too many rainbands, fairly weak for a storm trying to undergo that transition. Leslie however, shows no hint of being annular.

Well, Michael has been such a awesome storm this season! I love it! Weakening, but still a great hurricane to watch.

I have a feeling though, that in a later season, Michael will rear his full force on a US state or somewhere else.

Such a sweet little overachiever, so glad it didn't turn out like Leslie.

Michael has been the best TC in the Atlantic so far on this 2012 season. From a little swirl it became a powerhouse system that got good ACE numbers.(16.035)
