Re: ATL: BERTHA - Tropical Storm - Discussion
Good morning.
The good news that we were waiting for in PR and that is all the lakes went up some more than others but the main ones Carraizo was up as of 6 AM EDT +1.13 meters and La Plata is up +0.18 centimeters. Is expected more rise as the rivers deliver more water to the lakes. Is probable that the gov will cancel the water rationing that was to begin on Wednesday.

That's very good news, hopefully Bertha a sign that other tropical waves, disturbances, TD, TS,...etc will be bringing much needed rain to the Caribbean Islands over the next few weeks, in between the African dust of course

Very good news! A friend up in the mountains of central PR says she got 7" of rain over the late afternoon and evening. Thanks for letting us know, Luis!

Well that does come as a suprise. Rain flagged ?.
And good morning to all.
Not only because of rain but the recon had not descended yet, it was at around 23K feet, so can't imagine the SFMR reading being correct.

Maybe a start for her new life. If she gets some convection on the west/front side of her maybe she will be back in business, it has always been on the east/backside of her.

USA Today:
What is that over South Florida btw?
Downed trees limbs also were reported across St. Croix in the U.S. Virgin Islands, where a coastal buoy south of St. Thomas recorded wind gusts of 72 mph (115 kph).

Still doesn't appear to qualify for TD/TS status due to the lack of a well-defined LLC.

This system may well turn out to be the suprise packet of the season it's about to enter a historically unpredictable area.

You got a point, but is getting better organized by the hour since moving away from Hispaniola since earlier this morning.
It should have its LLC back later today, IMO.
