No, it is a Cyclonic Storm (SSHS Tropical Storm)

does that mean it is not even a cat 1? but they have issued signal 7 in the coast.

Hey guys, Im sorry about being absent, I been following the storm though. Posting a lot of information at this page below. Really worried about the storm in these low lying coastal areas.

Although it is just a cyclonic storm, its large and deep convection is affecting Bangladesh severely.

its not making landfall yet. still several hours away from the center crossing the coast.

Storm made landfall, deaths up to 8 now in Bangladesh, about 1 million people were moved in to evacuation cyclone shelters ahead of the storm. Lets hope this helps.

Apparently naming the cyclone Mahasen caused a huge controversy in Sri Lanka.
