Gonzalo is about to cause gusty winds and rain in Central Europe and drop a lot of snow in the Northern Alps. Up to 3 feet of snow are expected to fall in areas above 5,000ft until Thursday. Also, the North Sea is forecast to rise 6-8 feet above its regular high tide, bringing the first real storm tide to the German coastline this season.

It's not too unusual for a post-tropical hurricane to impact the weather in Europe, but it's quite rare that a 'cane delivers the first real snow of the year.

Apparently, the hurricane killed three people in Europe.

Got my eyes on moving right into Hurricane Alley: Florida.

Some storm surge barriers in the Netherlands are closed now: Oosterscheldekering and Maeslantkering.
