agree..... :lol: its a weird run for sure....


not really weird at all. again its a large feature and the global models had been forecasting it even before chantal formed. days ago.. its not likely anything major will change .. just north or south and faster or slower each run..

More than likely there would be unless it stalls and dies. There have been several storms that have crossed Florida that have kept their inner core intact only to restrengthen once they make it into the gulf.

one was kartina got stronger west of keywest after hitting south fl on east coast

popcorn convection beginning to fire on the northern side very near the center... could see a large burst of convection over the next few hours

GFS hr 150 at landfall.. has 990 very likely a decent hurricane .. given the high background pressure.. if 1010 is 50 mph then 990 may be ... 100... of course to far out to be certain.. but the trend is for a favorable environment to develop..
