In the middle of the Caribbean?? What airspace restrictions are there?

I'm not joking, and don't call me Shirley!

Off to bed...

Probably restricted by Venezuela, not the friendliest nation to the US.

One of the small islands (Isla Aves) that Venezuela has is at 15.7N-63.7W. Let's not get to politics. I am only pointing out where it is.

I guess we need to send a carrier battle group down to the south Carribean and have a couple of f-18s escort the HH.....hopefully the center is not reforming futher south...that would likely cause Chantal to miss Hispaniola...putting off landfall to Cuba. This has the potential to be a difficult TC to forecast if the LL and mid levels detach and go their seperate ways......MGC

The above is the opinion of MGC and not an official forecast.

Here is a pic I took when talking with CARCAH at the NHC... he was showing us the restriced air space on the map. You can see the two areas marked on the map, although Cuba does let them fly now. The other region is just below where he is pointing on the map.

:uarrow: Did he give a reason why that second area is restricted? I don't remember ever seeing this issue down there before.
