Re: ATL: CHANTAL - Tropical Storm - Discussion
@JohnMoralesNBC6: IF #Chantal survives (and that's a BIG if), NHC places a tropical storm about 150 miles east of #Miami on Friday. http://t.co/rhQCV7qPuK

Disclaimer: 50% of the time I have no clue of what I am talking about. Chances are I am taking a less than educated guess that sounds good because 10 years ago I stole Mike Watkins book 'The Hurricane and its Impact'. Just so people know, missed obs can be added here by anyone:
http://tropicalatlantic.com/recon/addobservation/
Just add the link from here once the ob appears in this archive:
http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/archive/recon/2013/AHONT1/
In 2014, my recon system should be rewritten so that a check of that archive occurs automatically every so often.
thanks Chirs, I forget about that. You've let us know before.

i know they have flown down there before for ivan and many others... must have been special permision.

When was this picture taken? I also have a picture of that map, and that second area is not there on my picture.

that seems a rather long way from their coastline to me, and we have flown throughout the caribbean many times before. Any pilots here that have access to the info? This is gonna bug me!

I was there in Feb or March of this year... I am not sure but I think he said something about that being a recent restriction with Venezuela. I don't remember seeing issues there before either.
