that look like want move to fl

Looks like the break in the ridge is actually a little further west right over the peninsula too me and with the wave axis this far west already a ride right up the spine of the peninsula or even right up along the west Coast wouldn't even surprise me at this point.

The globals really want to keep it east, lets see but that cinvection is on the move towards miami

You can see the vorticy very well on Miami's long range radar. Pronounced dead by Bones, and still fighting!

This is exactly what Levi Cowan is thinking could be a possible track for 96L/Chantal in his latest video from today.

That ULL is shearing this thing apart. I don't see how it can survive if the ULL isn't moving.

Anyone see anything about that thing moving out of the way?

Looking at radar out of Key West no signs of organized circulation.

Good evening everyone. It definitely is becoming apparent that a LLC is developing in the Florida Straits, just S/SE of the Upper Florida Keys imo and the area is drifting slowly northward.

Is the center forming in that semicircle on Miami long range radar?

What you're looking at is the dying remnants of an upper level low that has been over Florida for the past 36 hours or so.

Hi Jaxpro. :) I see what you're seeing but the (gradually weakening) ULL is too involved there and there's too much westerly motion in the low-level clouds. I think the center will form more to the east-northeast of there over or just north of the central Bahamas. But it sure is a possibility. Either way, I still don't think anything will consolidate before tomorrow midday at the earliest. This will be very slow to develop for a while yet. Too many competing areas of convection, none taking over, imho...

I talked the past couple of days in that ULL thread of the possibility of the ULL that had been parked over the FL Straits interacting with Chantal's remnants. That is exactly what is happening right now. However, it certainly looks as if the merge is beginning to take place either in the area I am focusing on or just east of that point into the Central Bahamas. There is so much energy down there right now and it will be a slow process for all of this to wrap up into a closed LLC. But, I do think it is beginning to slowly evolve ozonepete.

I am pretty sure the answer is yes, but just wanted to make sure. If this system were to redevelop to a TS, they would still name it Chantal right? What if it becomes a depression?

EDIT: Looked back a page and saw the answer to my first question.. But what about TD status? would it be numbered or named?
