They got spared the worst of it. No real damage reports have come in from Lake that I have seen

Very true but right now thats good to hear my grandfather doesnt live in a traditional house hes in a modular home so im always worried. Havent had to worry like this for the past 11yrs

NWS just issued a flood warning for the Tar River in Greenville, NC for Sunday onwards, expecting 17+ feet of water by then. River is at 6' now, a fairly normal level, and 15' is the flood stage. Peak level after Hurricane Floyd was 29 feet.

Just got a wind gust to 53 mph here at my .home just in the past couple of minutes. Getting a very heavy rain squall currently.

My DIL's parents lost their power about an hour ago. St John's Bluff/Atlantic area. 32246 zip.

(Edit to add) They also lost the wind turbine on top of their home. It landed in a neighbors backyard.

St Augustine underwater at least on the road next to the Castillo. It looked like river rapids swirling in and out of businesses on the street. Some guys doing a doc filmed it.

yikes, the tide gauge at Ft. Pulaski in GA is a bit scary--high tide is not even for another hour I believe

I think high tide is now along N. Florida coast, exacerbating the surge.

also negative tilted trough would turn the storm more toward the NW I believe (look at Sandy).

Yeah, it floods out with some high and King tides. They're in some trouble on Tybee.

This girl on the TWC in Jacksonville is really pissing me off, she is basically saying it will not be that bad when the core of the storm is still 100 miles away.

This is true...before I left for work this morning, I watched an update on the storm on TV...they were stating the storm made landfall in Melbourne...which never happened. Just an example of incorrect, misleading information making its way out to all of you experiencing the storm...I hope conditions improve soon for all of you...be safe

Since yesterday it has been taking wobbles, it is still moving on a NNW heading over all. Not good for St Augustine & Jax.

That's why we boarded up down here because with a Hurricane Warning you just don't take chances. We missed that kind of damage because we were lucky down here but we're ready at least if it did get bad

From East Arlington area of Jacksonville, Florida, still have power as of this post's time. Just checking in before very likely power outage..prayers to all.. still not even that bad but it will get worse this evening and overnight..hope the damages are least bad..for all...poor Haiti Will check back in when possible...
