This isn't a hurricane yet, look at storms like Gilbert and Allen, those were hurricanes this thing is clearly structurally a tropical storm.

Clearly you were not correct ;)

Any chance she will go more northward into Georgia after getting on land?

With high tides there's some good beach erosion going on. Pretty rough GOM.

At present, the projected path will take Hermine into southeast Georgia crossing somewhere between Valdosta and Folkston.

well invest 99L finally became a hurricane after 7,600+ posts and 725,600+ views (not counting the models thread) - more than likely shattering records for the number of posts before a system became a hurricane.

Florida's hurricane drought since 2005 looks to come to an end...

More importantly, why don't we retire this thread when all is said and done?

It is a good thing it was not organized three or four days ago it really could have been a bad storm.

We will see if there is a big convective burst near the eye anytime soon. Thats what will be the difference between 70kt and 80kt at landfall IMO.

Thanks. My husband is driving to Omaha, Georgia, (near Ft. Benning) on Friday evening. Wondering what he can expect. We are in Gainesville, Georgia.
