At least, Intense rainfall and strong tropical storm force winds sustained for several hours. Perhaps sustained Cat 1 winds for a while as well, and certainly some occasional gusts to hurricane force.

The most likely path IMO is a landfall just north of WPB, following the coast through Vero Beach and passing just to the west of Melbourne, then passing between Orlando and Cape Canaveral before heading towards Jacksonville.

This would result in every metropolitan area from West Palm Beach to Jacksonville including Orlando experiencing major hurricane conditions.

As someone around the area you're referencing, I truly hope you're wrong. People inland are not as experienced or prepared as those on the coast. There could be more loss of life with a path like that.

The Hurricane is not the only thing you need to consider. After this storm I can imagine ANYWHERE within 60-120 of the coast will not have power, gas, water, stores, food, services, police, fire,) Basically, you will have NOTHING. Roads will be blocked, wires down, trees, roads wiped out. No communications, no internet.

All of these things will not just be hours but days and in more likely with this storm WEEKS.

If you even have to think about the questions I posted the answer is YES LEAVE NOW. Unless you have planned and prepared for years for an absoulte catastrophic disaster you will not survive this. GO NOW. LEAVE. LIVE.

I've been seeing the models come to an almost consensus that the east turn will occur farther up the SC coast, yet the NHC's cone seems to put the turn near the GA/SC line. I wonder why. Are they waiting for another set of runs? I'm concerned as I live 45 miles NW of Charleston.

I noticed that too. I'm about 12 miles west of Charleston and if it turns east further up the coast it could have more serious implications for us here in Charleston.

THIS is what I don't think the people can appreciate just how GOD AWFUL it is after a major hurricane. There's nothing to do but sweat in the heat. No lights. No food. There's no gas to go anywhere. You find a dark place and sit in it to avoid the direct sun but its still hot as hell. It will be this way for weeks. You may get some relief effort supplied food after a few days, but it will be crap. You won't care because you'll be so thankful to have that bologna or jelly sandwich to eat. You'll defecate in the yard. It's beyond awful.

Just get out of there.

That's actually the radar loop out of Miami. I expect a little short-term weakening based on the lack of convection near the core. Looks like that dry air has wrapped around to the south side of the core, and convection immediately south of the eye has weakened a bit.

Yea, saw that. Those poor ill informed people that have never been through a hurricane have no idea. A lot of them may die due to their ignorance.....MGC
