Sadly, there are a few areas here in Broward that are subject to outages even in afternoon showers/storms. Still have power here in FLL just over a mile away from Port Everglades. Channel 6 shows FLL airport Gust at about 28 mph. I experienced this gust during a squall. Lets see the next one :3

The outer eyewall is the dominant eyewall - look at the motion on radar. The inner eyewall is pinballing inside of it now. The motion has been a constant northwest all day - and the hurricane center agrees.

and it still looks NW to me... NHC has done a remarkable job with this storm, and that is why they are the best in the world in what they do!

HRRR has had an extreme left bias. Storm would almost have to move wwnw for that to verify

Those rip curls of the outer eyewall tearing off and heading inward towards the inner eye might be a sign of intensification.

NHC wind graphic shows the potential for current TS winds over portions of SE FL. Has anyone seen ground verification of that? I recognize the disclaimer at the bottom of the graphic with "potential for" language, but hadn't seen anything above 30kt sustained in my searching.

Hopefully the EWRC will keep the winds down, however the core still has to traverse the Gulf Stream....
It will be an interesting night for Florida. I know of several people who decided to stay on the barrier island in Brevard county, I hope they stay safe. This area has not seen a major hurricane in any of our lifetimes. I feel that many who went thru Francis and Jeanne are expecting similar conditions and our clueless to the potential this storm has.

Looks like Matthew is going to attempt to wobble West around Freeport maybe

I don't know the name of the island just in front of Matt but do we think it will deflect it more westward as it approaches or
goes over it?

It's missing its earlier forecast point to the east. All day the floater map had a forecast point just west of Grand Bahama but now it's clear the eye is going to pass over the island right around Freeport.

Looks like inner eye starting to move almost due west past few frames?? Especially when you speed animation up.

Perhaps a wobble. Something that stuck out to me though.

Map may be correct. Here in Fort Lauderdale I have not seen any 30kt sustained winds at all. A few gusts may have come close, no TS gusts either even in some of the squalls, but I do know that squalls can vary greatly in strength.
