Matthew has been and apparently will remain an interesting system to follow. From what I've seen, he will weaken almost to nothing during the loop back towards south Florida. But who the hell knows what might happen if he makes it into the gulf with some remaining circulation? Stay tuned!!!

It would be amazing if he was strengthening considering the ERC. Usually during ERCs they weaken a category or 2 then ramp back up once it's complete.

But on the good side, I'm seeing more and more trends in the track to be a little more east of the forecast points. You can see it on both satellite and radar. It's enough that I'm becoming pretty sure that the complete eye will never make landfall on the Florida coast - will come pretty close at times but not make landfall where the coast gets a calm wind. That would be much better in terms of wind damage of course. Let's hope.

Agree the shortwave sat-pic indicate a robust system. Land fall well that cant be ruled out @ this point.

Lol I know my way around here really well: that's why I said "becoming pretty sure". If you stick your neck out any further here you get it chopped off immediately.

Brian NOrcross on TWC showing that outer eyewall band is only about 30 miles off the East Coast of Fla.

I'm very confused by this ERC. Instead if the inner eyewall collapsing, it seems to be merging with the outer eyewall which is quickly closing in while the pressure remains steady or slightly drops.

IMPRESSIVE! Prayers out to those in the path. Hopefully NC stays out of this though models are trending north with the turn east.

I'm in Wellington. Nothing here but rain and a breeze so far. No real bands entered this area yet. I imagine that will change over the course of time...

Sure does. What do you think about the loop and coming back down towards us in 5 days? That would be crazy.

Same band. 50 gusts, briefly lost power. Ugh

I'd expect the next move would be the next wobble with the outer eyewall tracking according to NHC.

Cannot find a good link to a time lapse radar image - let's say the last 6 hours or so to the current. Anyone use a site that they love and mind sharing the link? Want to see it from before the Bahamas and then to the current moment. Thx

Just was going to comment on that... not much movement the past 30 minutes or so... was still moving NW IMO... before the slow down that is...

"Better" meaning, more destructive or less? Hard to tell with this subject.
