WPAC: Tropical Depression 95C

#1 Postby 1900hurricane » Wed Oct 12, 2016 10:22 pm

A new CPac invest has been declared. Like 94C/Songda before it, it looks like it'll end up moving into the WPac. Guidance has been somewhat hot and (mostly) cold with this one.

As of 18:00 UTC Oct 12, 2016:

Location: 10.0°N 167.0°W
Maximum Winds: 25 kt
Minimum Central Pressure: 1008 mb

1. An area of low pressure, located about 1000 miles southwest of
Honolulu, Hawaii, continues to produce disorganized showers and
thunderstorms. Development, if any, will be slow to occur as it
moves to the west-northwest at 15 to 20 mph during the next couple
of days.
* Formation chance through 48 hours...low...20 percent

Hey! We may be onto something here! :D :D

Showers and thunderstorms to an area of low pressure, located
1270 miles west-southwest of Honolulu, Hawaii, have become better
organized in the past several hours. If this trend continues...a
tropical depression may form later today. The system is moving
west at about 15 mph.
* Formation chance through 48 hours...medium...50 percent

Just when I thought something would actually form! :x :x

Showers and thunderstorms associated with a broad area of low
pressure located 1450 miles west-southwest of Honolulu, Hawaii, or
1025 miles south of Midway, have become less organized during the
day. The system is also moving into an area of less favorable
conditions as it approaches the International Dateline. The
system is moving west at about 20 mph.
* Formation chance through 48 hours...low...30 percent

Now a JMA TD as it crosses the International Dateline. It's pretty weak though, and mostly devoid of convection. I doubt we'll see anything significant from it.
