Maybe NHC issues a Special Tropical Weather Outlook or they wait for the regular 8 PM one?

If they do upgrade at 11 ( or a special advisory) its likely they are waiting for some more organized convection. right now its still a little popcorn type

This has closed off more and more throughout the day. If this progress continues then Harvey will make his return tomorrow.

No King I don't, just the initial developing features of banding, the actual "center" still looks pretty small to me... and it's just starting really to develop... would have to wait another 12-24 hours to see if a much broader circulation develops, but my opinion only and it certainly could expand more in time... I just think it will continue to develop and tighten up over time.. ... But I am just a premature speculator at best

Dang, going to have to buy a generator because I got more invested in my salt tank than the generator costs. It's been almost 50 years since CC TX has received a hit. I hope our luck continues.

You can view the surface pressure profile here..
That is enough of a pressure gradient to spin up fairly quickly.
So far the core has kept out the dry air so that will probably be able to expand.

Looks quite sheared to me, the convection is nowhere near the center, the 850 and 700 vortices are about 50 miles farther east

We've seen it before where organization looks good but due to the broader circulation and multiple vortices really decent organization takes time.

I agree there are at least two areas in this wave that may close fight it out later on.
Its also very elongated atm.

I wouldn't be surprised to see a quick trigger finger from NHC. It's probably a bit too early for hurricane watches but the sooner they can start advisories the better.

I can see at least 2 vorts. the original one and another that just tucked under that cloud debris to the north where the new deep burst has started. it needs more convection still too much popcorn type

Looks like the northern vortex is becoming the dominant one. What's the future intensity looking like? The models have been all over the place.
