oh my this radio station is recommending people open windows to relieve pressure on their homes.. that's the last thing they should do with those winds.

Portsmouth is on the other side of the island's tallest mountain, and likely won't feel the wind until the eye passes through Roseau, south of Portsmouth. Then we may see some higher wind gusts reporting from that wunderground station.

Based on the earlier data and extrapolation, I would go with 150 kt for the landfall intensity.

I'll be shocked if the radio tower is up once the winds swing after the eye passes Roseau. Hopefully they are taking care of their elderly residents as much as possible and the folks left Scott's Head in the southern tip which is seriously exposed once the surge starts.

They said they are streaming over the internet which is buried, rather than a radio tower.

What would be the KZC pressure estimate for an intensity of 150 kt at landfall? Although I think it has weakened since.

I am listening to DBS FM 88.1 from the Streema link provided earlier in the thread. They are still on the air and taking calls from people, updating about the conditions and giving people safety information. They are reporting now their own building has taken damage. I really hope they all stay safe.

I guess a bunch of us were able to get the station to work. They are in for a surprise on the other side of the storm...I suspect they are taking a look outside now in Roseau.
