Waking up and seeing Harvey's rapid structure improvement on satellite is stunning, as is the intensity potential. VERY serious situation. I'm out of the country until Tuesday, so if people could save time sensitive satellite loops of this historic hurricane, that would be fantastic.

I'm more afraid of an offshore stall. Yeah, friction might weaken the storm overall eventually, but the water it brings would be made even worse by having it sit over the source of such water for a long time. Suffice to say it's time to be thinking of male H names for 2023.

Not a meteorologist, in fact more of an idiot than anything. You should probably check with the NHC or a local NWS office for official information.

That's lower than the 06z GFS run!

Will a storm of this strength and size erode any of the subtropical ridge or prevent it from building in from east to west as much? Seems like the GFS is slightly trending further north up the coast little by little.

While that is a very cool product, I'd be willing to bet power outages roughly 100% almost over the entire area in orange.

Empty your automatic ice maker and turn off the water feed...During Charlie I put bags of ice from FEMA in our refrigerator and damaged the wood floor because they leak like crazy once they warm...

Looks like an upper low diving toward the Pacific in SW Mexico and an upper low lifting up through Arizona being squeezed by high pressure apparently.
