I'll try to make some adjustments.

0058 is the column for extrapolated surface pressure (or d-value). Missing in later obs. And where you see "////" that should never be coded as missing.

I have added the messages manually after I made a manual adjustment to my recon system. The system will not handle it in real time yet. I have to add the missing column in manually. I think I might temporarily have the system add that column if missing. Until then, I have to manually add each HDOB that is not correct.

Thank you !
Looks like they have corrected the problem by the end of ob 28. I was working on coding a temporary patch to add the missing column, but I might not since it stopped. I don't want to leave a patch like that in there. I might even take out the ability to have static air pressure missing, since that is not supposed to happen. I have extremely strict error checking in the code.

Well that really has come along in the last few hours, the eyewall is certainly looking stronger on that radar image, though not yet the powerful ring you usually get with the true big boys...it may well get there though!

If I try to access:
http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/archive/recon/2017/
In Chrome I get an error. I have to use Firefox. Odd.

I'll wait until they reach the center again and then I'll do a radar loop.

Thanks for trying. I just tried it again and it worked for me. Must have been something very temporary. They had Harvey's name as "0" in the advisory archive earlier. They seem to fix issues fast.

That large pool of high CAPE air off the Texas coast I mentioned yesterday is still there today.
If it is there tomorrow, could see RI at landfall if there are no other impairments.
Also, the Theta-E Ridge is still there also.

Just an FYI - - In one of the more bizarre RI cases, Wilma of 2005 intensified from a 70 mph tropical storm into the Atlantic's strongest recorded hurricane in 1 day

The rate of inner core orginization is pretty amazing. I still we have a major by 11pm.

Also that image was before its current state of convection all the wat around. Next pass will be closed

The spiral banding shows up nicely in that pic.

Everyone in the projected path please take this seriously and be safe. Do not wait to make your preparations if you do not have to do so. Harvey could indeed, as the forecasts appear to indicate, be a very bad storm.

What can save the CONUS this time from a major landfall? Dry air intrusion or inner-core dynamics? Maybe this will turn out like IKE and bombs out pressure-wise but the windfield expands?

1900 Hurricane mentioned earlier it seemed to be developing a more CDO pattern, now seems to be developing banding on northern flank.
