Not sure this is serious but highly doubtful. SHIPS indicated 0% chance across the board.

I wasn't joking, but also was 99% certain of being wrong.

I just happened to be reading this:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Annular_tropical_cyclone

Reading about the EWRC, thinking about what happened this morning, and looking at the picture on wikipedia before Goni became annular and thought "well, that doesn't seem that far off".

For what it's worth, I don't think you're way out of the ballpark. If it was over open water, then it would most likely be trying to shed those outer bands.. the core looks very much like it could be trying to get annular.. I'm no pro, but definitely has that look.. nice observation

Cantore just had a Freudian slip. "Unfortunately we're not going to take the eyewall".

Recon is done but we should get surface observations soon from the eye. Radar also agrees with the current intensity.

Scary stuff, but thankfully the core of the storm isn't coming into Corpus Christi. Looks like a low population area will receive the brunt.

Slidell is going to get rocked in Port Lavaca in a few hours. Things could also get serious in Victoria if Harvey keeps up his momentum.

Jailhouse humor. Ouch.

Meriland,

Read what the mets here say, and what other professionals say (NWS, NHC, Trusted TV stations). Rule #1 for storms is ignore rumors no matter if they come from people you otherwise trust. Remember the grade school exercise where something got whispered and took on a life of its own we had those issues during Katrina where even the national media
Got caught up in the hype. L.A. Times did an awesome story a few weeks later on what happened where even major media was caught up in hype and insane ridiculousness brought forth by word of mouth and shell shocked people. Trust me. Social Media just amplifies voices that should never be heard.
