And then comes the unceasing rain.

Makes me sick to my stomach to think about it. I can't even imagine what this will be like.

I'm not a meteorologist, I'm an electronics engineer. While I can probably fix your toaster oven, you're not going to learn about storms from me!

New Mexico had no hurricanes. Then I moved to NC right before Fran.....

Latest wobble would bring this dangerously close to the nuclear power plant in Matagordo county.
High tension lines from the plant might slap so they will probably have to shut.

Really hoping someone rescues Mike Theiss ASAP. He's wrecked his car with a Category 4 hurricane almost on top of him.

My posts are my own personal opinion, defer to the National Hurricane Center (NHC) and other NOAA products for decision making during hurricane season.

Once the eyewall hits I imagine it's going to be every chaser for themselves, it's basically going to be an EF-2 tornado for 30+ minutes.

What an awful spot to get trapped! Hopefully another chaser is nearby and can get to him quickly.

Disclaimer: 50% of the time I have no clue of what I am talking about. Chances are I am taking a less than educated guess that sounds good because 10 years ago I stole Mike Watkins book 'The Hurricane and its Impact'. For official information please direct yourself to the NHC and their cadre of weather geniuses.

If this holds, I would put the landfall intensity at 120 kt, based on continued IR presentation improvement after Recon left. Although we'll see more pressure data soon.
