I haven't seen any data to support 160kt in a while now. Only 150-155kt.

I have been inside very large eyes before and it is dead calm in them, so yes it can have 0 knot winds.

I'm guessing the wind meter is destroyed but I guess we'll know soon. Amazing anything is still working on it, even for its purpose this seems like probably beyond its design parameters? Looks like the base is made of metal though.

The Barbuda station has had 0 mph readings three times running so the anemometer must be broken. Pretty impressive it lasted as long as it did.

Watching this first hit live is nerve-wracking and I'm sure damage is tremendous, but I'm quite relieved it seems to be moving relatively quickly and the core of strongest winds is very small for the overall size of the system. If this were crawling along and subjecting islands to eyewall winds for hours, this would be apocalyptic. As it stands, I still have hope that damage will be less than worst-case.

It's really disturbing to get a land pressure reading that low in any basin, though.

Not a meteorologist, in fact more of an idiot than anything. You should probably check with the NHC or a local NWS office for official information.

Looks like the company that built the blue shed in Rockport also builds weather stations

And the air pressure isn't even updating the time of the transmission.
