If you look you can see the low level banding spinning just underneath where the clear places are so the center is probably going to clear near where the "nose" is (it looks like a face to me)

It turned the corner and closed off that dry side that was inhibiting it...Can the eye-like feature snap to hurricane?

Franklin is going to be one heck of a formidable. and very likely to be a powerful tropical cyclone in the BOC. He is quite impressive already with an apparent eye already cleared out!

Looks like the GFS keeps Franklin buried way deep down in the BOC on this run.

The models tend to underestimate the degree of ridging in this part of the basin. The further south solutions are correct... maybe a repeat of Karl in 2010 except weaker.
