I don't know. I have given up trying to figure it out.

We are good. Got all the supplies and ready for what ever happens. The streets are flooding in Lumberton and school was cancelled for tomorrow. Mikes employer also cancelled Monday for him. Just hanging in there. I know your subdivision floods on a dime. I sent you a PM.

Glad y'all are ok. Schools canceled here too. Work closed. Hwy 105 is flooded between Pinewood and Sour Lake.

Yeah, I thought I did too but so did 4000 other people in my subdivision that knew the same back roads.haha It took 1 1/2 hours to get 1/2 a mile down the street and 8 minutes to get back home My friends left and went to Dallas The 5 hour drive took them 18 hours. I'm warm, dry, in my soft jammies about to watch Game of Throne and not in a car in the rain. We are also two less people that first responders have to deal with. Again, I would really appreciate everyone applauding our first responders, OEM personnel, and volunteers .

Ah! I guess that's true, too! LOTS of others going the way you're going...I guess I figured NO ONE would get on "my" back roads....hahaha.

Anyway, I agree with you about the first responders, too. My hubby was one for years. I know how stressful it can be. I can't imagine the amount of work going in to what they are doing now. Hubbs and I are watching TWC non-stop tonight, and seeing all those rescues....over and over....

This whole scenario is just incomprehensible.

Be sure to give him my regards...what did he do, Fire, EMS, or PD? If you don't mind sharing, of course.

Not looking good. If this thing comes back on us on the east side closer to Houston it is not good at all for Houston and we will be on the dirty side. Luckily it has been on and off with the heavy rain bands and not constant rain. At least not constant on the heavier bands.

I'm okay with power/water/etc in downtown houston. I'm 8 floors up so I'm not worried about much more than power outage for myself. I'm extremely worried about friends and family across Houston... or just all over Houston.

I'm trying to understand the timeline going forward with respect to the timeline of expected additional rainfall for Houston area and how that actually corresponds with change in flood levels. News and Wx channel all seem to focus on how much additional rainfall is expected (double what has come), but they aren't diving into how that actually translates into additional flooding. Without explaining it, the implication is to expect double the levels that currently exist, and this flooding is because of such a large amount over such a short time. The Harris County Flood Warning site is down for me at least, so I can't see what the flood levels have actually done, if they've receded any or held steady. Some areas on the news were showing receding water, so it has fallen back some at least in some places, but with the additional rainfall coming down over the course of the next few days instead of such a short time period, one would expect a somewhat less severe ratio of rainfall to flood level.

Am I thinking this through correctly? Essentially, we all know this is unprecedented for the area, and with the further complication of releasing the reservoirs, can get extremely difficult to predict, but I wonder what the actual increase is going to be to the flood levels over the next few days. The fact I'm not hearing it anywhere tells me nobody has a good prediction.
