URGENT--
ALL CAJUN NAVY ASSETS IN AND HEADING TO THE BEAUMONT-PORT ARTHUR AND ORANGE TEXAS AREAS HAVE BEEN ORDERED TO STAND DOWN AND PULL BACK TO HIGHER GROUND DUE TO THE FEROCITY OF CURRENTS IN THE FLOODED AREAS ABOVE.
WE HAVE CONFIRMED REPORTS OF SEVERAL RESCUE BOATS THAT HAVE CAPSIZED AND SWEPT AWAY. STATUS OF THE BOAT PERSONNEL ARE UNKNOWN EXCEPT FOR ONE WHICH IS IN THE PROCESS OF BEING RESCUED BY A COAST GUARD HELICOPTER AT THIS TIME.PUBLIC OFFICIALS HAVE SAID THAT RIGHT NOW THIS WILL ONLY BE A COAST GUARD, FIRST RESPONDER AND CERTIFIED SAR ASSET OPERATION. ALL OTHERS WILL BE STOPPED BEFORE ENTERING INTO THE AREAS WHERE THE WATER IS SO BAD THAT ONLY LARGE BOATS WITH AT LEAST A 300HP ENGINE ARE BEING ALLOWED.

Anyone here want to help with dispatch for the Cajun Navy? We are swamped with requests. Anyone with time, a phone, a computer with internet and dispatch experience, please let me know if you want to help via PM.

I just heard the Waco Navy and Texas Navy are headed into that area. They said they have the appropriate equipment, horsepower, etc to be able to get in and out safely. Said they formed on the same structure of the Cajun Navy

This stubborn storm is dumping all it can on Beaumont before it finally moves away.

Thanks to all of you who kept posting late last night & this a.m. to keep us informed on the situation on Beaumont & Port Arthur. I stayed up until nearly 3 am in my time zone (I'm currently working in West Africa) until I couldn't keep my eyes open any longer...
So heartbroken to read of the devastation. To all of you Storm 2Kers in affected areas in Texas, praying for rapid diminishing of the floods, incredible community support, all needed assistance, and a restoration of a semblance of normality as quickly as possible. Above all, praying for safety as the post-storm hazards, I know, can be pretty serious!

Re: ATL: HARVEY - Tropical Storm - Discussion
My parents and nephews had to be rescued by boat. Water began coming into the house about 4 this morning. By the time they got picked up around 9 they had a foot in the house. I can not explain how crazy it is. They built the house up a good 3-4 feet in total. My stepmom said the water in the yard was chest deep. They will probably end up with 3-4 feet in the house, which would be 7 feet or more of water from ground level. I feel helpless not being able to do anything but until the water recedes and they can get to the house, I am stuck here in Baton Rouge.
My parents are in Beaumont off of 105 and have been flooded by Pine Island Bayou.

Gah this is just awful hearing all of the stories that are coming out of the Golden Triangle.
The part that boggles my mind is the level of cleanup that is going to be needed from Metro Houston over to the Golden Triangle. How will it even occur? Will they be able to fix houses that were already flooded or will they have to bulldoze the entire house and start over? Whichever it is going to be, it will be one monumental task

One small blessing in all this is cell towers are up so communication between families, etc is available.
