Re: ATL: IRMA - Hurricane - Discussion
So even with the continued wnw motion it will slowly pull away from the coast since cuba bends west.. next few hours the southern eyewall should be back over very warm water.

I have been watching that feed. I am amazed at how many people are so casually walking around with their dogs, taking pics. I hope they make it out of this alive... especially the pups! They didn't choose this.

I bet the shed at Southernmost Point doesn't last as long as the other supersheds of late.

With every significant storm you unfortunately get those few who believe "it won't be that bad" or "our house is strong enough".

Hurricanes can do that? That's crazy.

Can someone smarter than me explain what happened here?
I am in disbelief right now... This is Long Island Bahamas.

I can't believe people are still out of there! They should've evacuated by now!!!

My understanding is that key west has some higher ground than most of the keys...about 18 feet to be exact. That is gonna be a lonely spot late tonight for those that have decided to stick around. If She passes over them or to it's west it'll be like nothing that island as seen(labor day storm was east of then and smaller)

The waters there are around 3-6 feet deep, but that is still an astonishing video. It also means there's a wall of water heading toward FL. Yikes.

Looks like she's going to be pretty close to that next forecast position pretty soon. From there to the next point is when the more northerly component should kick in. It'll be interesting to watch. A little to the left, a little to the right means so much for places like Tampa.

That's pathetic, anyone who hasn't left those keys is asking to get swept away.
