Take a look at yesterday's 12Z EC. It had the low center north of Freeport at 12z today. Pretty good forecast.

yes however the 12z euro yesterday came through the straights not east/ne across the state exiting out from west palm area.

That's precisely what yesterday's 12Z EC indicated, moving ENE across southern Florida. Surface obs last night supported that track. Of course, there were no TS winds anywhere near that center.

Here is a special map that shows wind gust forecasts from NOAA’s nowCOAST team. When the map opens it shows the forecast for 12 hours out. It is hard to take a color on the map and find that color in the legend.

When the map opens it is centered at the darkest red. I used a nifty free windows app that can display the hex color code of anything on my screen. The color at the center of the screen when the map opens is hex FF5A00 which on the map legend is 67.5 to 72.5 knots.

Note that the darkest red will be somewhere else after the next 4 hour update to the data on the NOAA GIS server.

If you click the basemap button you can select from 6hr, 12hr, 18hr gust forecasts. After you select a forecast then you should turn on the state outline layer.
