just getting closer to the radar and you can see the shallow convection more. :)

Definitely ramped up a little in the past few hours, looking like a landfall from Pascagoula to Gulfport unless it rides the coast into LA

I'm always suspicious when SFMR winds are higher than FL winds. However, I think Gordon's winds are in the 45-50 kt range. Plane found 48kts.

Yeah no change in strength despite the pressure drop. no convection around center= no strengthening

not the far side for the low level swirl that is below 6000 feet and the south side is just reaching radar range for the shallow convection. :)

Looks like Alabama/Mississippi border area for center landfall. Pascagoula looks likely to me.

Still a little time left for it to start looking like 70mph TS lol

though it probably wont until after landfall with more land friction..

The plane sampled Gordon's heaviest squalls and found winds 45-50 kts. Looks like landfall around the MS/AL border, assuming it jogs a bit more west. I measured a 1-hr movement of 344 degrees at a little over 16 kts, which is eastern Mobile Bay. To strike between Gulfport & Biloxi it would have to track toward 291 deg.
