Recon has turned inbound now. GPS Dropsonde (obs 3) on NW side showing Tropical Storm Characteristics... from 10kft to surface. Just very, very little wind at surface!

Just trying to stay dry. Its been a wet 2 weeks down here....especoally working at an outside bar.

Hoping for the storm to quickly get out of our area so the weekend wont be a total wash.

Monday may be salvageable...tomorrow not so much. We had to postpone the Minimum Regatta that was scheduled for tomorrow.

All the wind is on the east side....still a very lopsided system.

Key West.

The minimum regatta is a bunch of homemade kayaks and rowboats racing and sometimes sinking in the Key West Bight marina.

Cant do it with tomorrow's forecast.

I have been watching a shortwave that's been dropping down from near New Orleans now and should hook up with Alberto later today. This is also bringing moisture with it and I believe will be the catalyst for further intensification.

I think they will find the center not far from the 1pm position.

To my untrained eyes, the center has not moved much if at all from the earlier position. I think it is almost half exposed to the sw. Dry air is still taking its toll for now. That could change.
