Re: ATL: ALBERTO - Sub-Tropical Storm
one note to take away from dropsonde in COC... we are seeing a warm core now. Why we don't know how far it extends, we do see warm air being lifted up 2kft?

Re: ATL: ALBERTO - Sub-Tropical Storm
Looks like maybe another reformation eastward?
I have seen right sided systems in the past that seem to keep reforming toward the convection
until a stronger center forms.

Re: ATL: ALBERTO - Sub-Tropical Storm
Looking at IR the moisture field looks like swiss cheese with all the dry air being entrained.

As a Vol. Fire Chief, the current tracking trends is causing me to reevaluate our coastal department's preparedness to plan for increased wind and rain impacts. With the holiday crowed, this is going to be a tough call for the coastal counties EM's and Commissioners. Gulf County declared a Local State of Emergency based on Adv. #6.

What happened to the NHC satellite feeds?
I've been viewing the various feeds for almost 2 decades.
Why was the decision made to limit the feeds?
Who made that terrible decision?

Re: ATL: ALBERTO - Sub-Tropical Storm
Very high rain rate (60mm/hr).
Rates typical of a strong eyewall.
Note recon's measurement of the highest rain rate relative to surface pressure.
Concentrated lightning on the strongest cell.
Strengthening quickly.
