More info from the new NESDIS webmaster:
Our scripts to make images read data from our buildings' own satellite feed. Our site is supported 8x5, not 24x7, and the team members who can restart everything are out of town and do not have internet where they are. We are doing what we can, and we appreciate your patience.

The NOAA branch NESDIS is responsible for the satellite images seen on the NHC website. It's my understanding the switch between the GOES-16 Satellite and the now retired GOES-13 satellite is the reason, as there needs to be some configuration/work done to remake the GOES-13 sectors for GOES-16. This is the works, but no ETA.

For now, there are plenty of options:

Looks like the northward turn is happening right now in my opinion. Last few frames of GOES 16.

The center is underneath that blob of convection?

Sometimes that's all it takes to get it going.

Looks like it's around 84.4W per recon. NHC track currently shows farthest East point as 84.9W in 7 hours (5am).

18z HWRF model swings the low pressure less than 50 miles offshore of the FL west coast with a definite NE track to just offshore of Ft Myers, then paralleling the coast. Probably an outlier, but the center of Alberto seems to be getting constantly tugged to the NE by the heavy convection.
