Yeah I have a plan, I just wasn’t sure if it was warranted for the Chesapeake area or not but I could easily see us getting hurricane force winds or at least a lot of flooding from the stalling that may occur.

I'm in Chesapeake too. I'm not gonna lie, I'm getting progressively more concerned with each advisory.

From the 11 discussion:

2. Life-threatening freshwater flooding is likely from a prolonged
and exceptionally heavy rainfall event, which may extend inland over
the Carolinas and Mid Atlantic for hundreds of miles as Florence is
expected to slow down as it approaches the coast and moves inland.
And your local forecast office-
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday.

The risk of significant impacts from Hurricane Florence is
increasing. While there is still quite a bit of uncertainty
regarding the exact track and speed, the potential for strong winds
and prolonged extremely heavy rainfall is growing.

Please continue to closely monitor the latest forecasts on Hurricane
Florence. Take time now to put together emergency kits and put a
plan in place for your family and pets.

Prepare and take care.

Can you share the link for the floater images? I thought they we're not working.

My daughter and grandchildren live in Virginia Beach. My son in law is deployed right now. Can someone please give me an idea of what Virginia Beach can expect from this?

My posts are my own personal opinion, defer to the National Hurricane Center (NHC) and other NOAA products for decision making during hurricane season.

12 mile wide eye....plenty of room and time for contracture to pinhole. Still headed for warmer waters. If Flo can stay away from shear she will have a good chance of Cat-5. Beautiful symmetric structure on satellite. Son just texted me on what he should do. He is in the Norfolk area. He said panic has set in, I know that feeling all too well.....MGC

Flooding in the Norfolk-Hampton Roads area is going to be very bad.

From those of us potentially in the path of this thing.... no, it really isn't fun nor a laughing matter in this situation.

I feel your pain. I felt the same pre Irma. BUT, nothing anybody says has an effect on what happens. I'm sure Aric's context was purely scientific. Best of luck to you and yours. Be safe!

The higher resolution animation from last night (from a tweet) showed wobbling with a general WNW track--seems like it's behaving so far.

Well, Mark won't have to go far. It is disconcerting that this thing is so far away.
