Re: ATL: MICHAEL - Hurricane - Discussion
Looking at the radar:
I see very deep RED colors around the storm, but mostly north and north east quad.
Then I'm seeing WHITE colors on the western side.
Can someone explain to me which is worse weather? It seems like there's a lot of really bad weather much further west of the center than is normal.....or is that relatively CALM weather/wind?

My gut tells me it may do so pretty soon. I can imagine myself in that situation right now. This is unprecedented.

Wasn't Maria 908mb?
Actually, it was 917mb by the time it reached Puerto Rico.
I amend my previous statement to strongest hurricane to reach the mainland US since Andrew.

Does someone have a link to a few good cameras? I'm a teacher in Kansas and would like to show them how powerful hurricanes are. We are studying world climates right now. Thanks.

Water coming up passed where it was during nate last year here is Miramar beach, if it comes any higher it's going to be higher than the sea wall at the marina. This is getting scary for people who live on the bay!

Www.visitpanamacity.com should have a collection of webcams. Some aren’t working. But, the 4th one down has a good pier shot.

I'm fascinated to see if they continue to merge. It was five about an hour ago.

What was Irma?
Irma hit Virgin Island as a 160kt doomcane, but it came before Maria
