I think possibly falling fast. Would'nt surprise me in the least if 'ol Flo had to get re-fit for her size (Cat) 4 dress.

Maybe, but she is also way larger too...

Wait for the radar map to load and then zoom out to see the storm.

The south/southwest side is really expanding. Looking like Flo wanted a big beard.

The eye is suddenly becoming well defined again with cooling cloud tops, don't count her out yet.

Shear has obviously abated. I would not be surprised to see her make a run at low end Cat 4. We can only hope that what develops tonight falls apart again before her approach to Wilmington.

It’s a tough decision.

Flooding could be apocalyptic. If you stay, get to high ground.

Even in the best conditions, it can only strengthen so much in 24 to 48 hours. I'm more concerned about the size of the current wind field and how much water is piling up to create a surge on the coast. I don't see it in a weakening phase at this hour though it's appeared to struggle over this afternoon and early evening.

It's not a time to let your guard down; but pay attention to the NHC and official news sources for local instructions.
Take care and stay safe!

Good advice.

Currently on the 6th floor of a reinforced-concrete parking garage.

Place was almost empty last night but is now jammed with cars.

Always best to make decisions early to avoid the crowds.

Although I have been a hurricane forecaster since 1980 that only means I've been wrong lots of times.

Recon is about to head through the center for another pass. We will see if the satellite presentation is deceiving again.

Perfect shelter. Going to be one hell of a show. You may be there awhile so plan accordingly!

Looks like it's for real this time. Pressure is about 3mb lower than the last pass...
