The building is still in tact, but it is getting pummeled with waves.

Just posted that about the same time. Several times, I thought he was gone. Literally. Not good!

He made it safety in the building. They had parked there has the storm surge was coming in. It's looks like the house where they were parked by.

Who was the guy on the cell phone that told him to go back to Mexico Beach from Port ST. Joe?

I've been watching Adair the whole morning.

I knew that was a grave error and shouted at the screen...NO!

It was unbelievable how quickly that surge came in.

This should be required viewing for all those who say they are gonna

"ride it out"

I'm sick to my stomach.

Praying for Adair and his friend.

@MikeWDross — Recon measured 917.1 extrapolated pressure. Lowest so far, 1 mb lower than an hour and half ago.

yeah. I've been watching the coverage more than this thread. Sorry for spamming! 8-)

The stream is still running for me. The car is currently slammed up against a building or a pier or something, possibly on its side.

I'm hoping that this is the house it's bumping up against. If So Brett may still be OK at the house is still standing...

Excellent! that's exactly where he was, I watched him pull in there. So he's hopefully standing on the back deck of that house.

I'm thinking Tyndall missed dead center of the eye, and the actual pressure was about 916 mb.

Is there enough confidence out there to go with a landfall intensity of 140 kt? I know both FL and SFMR winds support such...

I'm pretty sure that Michael will be upgraded to CAT5 in post-season once the SFMR readings are re-examined

Is that not typical that the worst destruction is after the eye passes over?

That has been my experience. The first pass does damaged, the second pass flattens things. Like bending a plastic spoon may stress it, but bending it back the other way breaks it.

The back side is always the worst winds...

I checked Brett Adair’s Facebook page and he hasn’t updated yet but alot of people have tagged him wondering if he’s okay.

I’m really concerned for him and his team.

Edit: his wife reported that he’s okay

I mean it'l basically is a 5, the damage will probably look like a 5 as well.

It probably was 1-2hrs from being a legitimate 5.

According to Google Earth (take it for what it's worth), the elevation of the driveway at that house we think Adair was at is 14 feet. Up above the wall and beyond behind the house is 22-24'. I can't find anything higher anywhere near there, so that spot may be as good as any, relatively speaking of course.

A good case can be made post season for this to be a Cat 5. It is rare to see storms intensify coming in, in this part of the world with Andrew being one of the most famous. What a terrifying thing to witness.

If you can see a storm chaser’s live feed it means he must be ok since he is doing the recording. Right?
