Looks about like what I expected when it strengthened to ~150 MPH, sadly...like a giant tornado went through.

Modern train cars are a lot heavier than they were in 1935, too...

And in the 1935 storm, many were on elevated tracks, thus making them more susceptible to updrafts and high winds.

Many pressure records are going to be broken in central GA tonight. 18z HWRF has Michael approaching Augusta at 967mb.

Requesting any information/ pics of Blountstown/Bristol area. Have family there.
Marianna is smashed and I’m sure those two towns south of them are similarly damaged

Ditto this request. My business partner is from Blountstown and his family and many friends still live there. Given Marianna's location I can only imagine that Blountstown got beat up pretty bad too

It's sad. I felt the same way about Soggy Dollar, One Love, etc. in the BVI:

The highest one has Albany in it. The eye's been going through mostly swampland and towns(seriously must stink being there right now, far off the grid.), but now it's going to get close to a city.

Good thing it's weakened considerably by now.

Hope everyone's safe in the Panhandle up there.

I used the power of google to make this.

Makes for kind of a funny "Weather-Geek" trivia question: "In 2018, Florida had nearly 100,000 residents experience going through the eye of Hurricane Michael. Name a state where nearly twice as many residents went through Michael's eye that year".

We've had tornadoes spin up here in Atlanta as well. One crossed 285 at 6:30...you can guess how thats affecting traffic.
I've been watching the GA Power outage map which updates every 15 mins and seen a couple thousand added every time it updates.

Klotzbach confirms, moving into GA with 115 sustained, first Georgia major since 1890s. A Georgia major still a major after crossing the panhandle. There are no words.

Could be lowered in post, but still.

Colors of lost purpose on the canvas of irrelevance

Not a meteorologist, in fact more of an idiot than anything. You should probably check with the NHC or a local NWS office for official information.
