These last visibles before sunset are really incredible. very impressive convection is about to start engaging the cape lookout area. much heavier duty stuff getting underway just as darkness approaches.

The current big burst is more of a maintenance burst than anything, we've seen her do that last night.
She should be able to maintain the 100-105 mph intensity towards the brief NC LF and then probably be a giant flood maker and TS when she gets to SC. Large storms may not ramp up like smaller ones but they're a lot harder to take down.
The impacts over the past few days haven't really changed. Yes maybe she won't be the Cat 4 disaster we thought she'd be, but she'll cause plenty of trouble regardless.

Has her eye been almost completely stalled at 76w 34n for a few hours now? As stated above, the NW movement seen is somewhat illusionary...
