Typically when a storm is about to take a pretty decent turn from its current movement, you can see a portion of that storm flatten out some. If the storm was expected to start hitting its brakes soon to eventually stall or start making a turn, I don’t see any evidence of that happening anytime soon with the west side of Dorian looking better in the past couple frames.

Look at Dorian winding up a knockout punch with those storms on its leading edge!

I'm totally torn... on one hand, I wish for continued fast forward movement for the sake of all those in the Bahamas. The idea of a cat 5 stalling and sitting just about on top of Abaco / Grand Bahama for 36-48 hours has been just unimaginable.

But faster forward movement to the west delaying any stall /turn, of course, makes everything potentially that much worse for Florida.

My thoughts and prayers are with all in the Bahamas, and all trying to figure out what to do in Florida - emergency managers and residents. The uncertainty with this storm combined with the potential consequences of busting a forecast are pretty off the charts.

I know they are unpredictable but an ERC seems unlikely anytime soon.

Beautiful Elbow Cay in Great Abaco Bahamas, is going to be wiped out, direct hit by Dorian looks eminent.

I don’t see that on the CIMSS...

So how the people in Florida are reacting now that the NHC don´t show a landfall in Florida but Dorian's movement seem to show another thing? they are still prepared in general?
