Yup - definitely has a WNW component now.

The eye wobbles with land interaction, wait at least a couple hours before we know if it is shifting or not.

Stay on topic, avoid making posts that you know full well will fill a thread with arguments. Obviously I had to remove a few posts.

It's a land-falling across literally the thinnest part of that island, has a portion of the eye still over water. I really don't imagine that land is going to induce much weakening.

Wasn’t there a theory that hurricanes hate land? So they try to go around it?

So calculation the distance and heading between the first fix at 11:32z and last AF recon fix at 16:23z on the COC it gives me a heading of 276 degrees at an average movement of 7.5 mph, so just a tad further south heading and just a tad slower than earlier this morning.

Honestly we need another 1-2 hours worth of frames before claiming its turning WNW... obviously there has been some WNW movement, but I think it could just be a wobble related to the island interaction.

Eyewall onshore; northerly component a result of trochoidal motion via conservation of angular momentum, due to surface friction. With respect to moment of central pressure movement, one should await a several hour geopositional trend before conveying this assertion.

The other way around. Pretty much transfer heat and solar energy to other cooler areas. Land or not. They have a purpose on earth.

Yes actually. I've seen a few mets discuss this in detail. They like to ride along or around land wherever they can.
