Here's data from an earlier ASCAT pass, which is good for visualizing the size of Humberto's wind field.

According to Bermuda radar, Humberto and Bermuda are doing their best Dorian/Cape Hatteras near-miss landfall imitation...

The southern eyewall is starting to go over Bermuda right now. This won't be an official landfall, but just about as close as you can get without getting one.

Winds have been hurricane-force for an hour or two now, I’ve seen videos of a roof coming off and a palm tree snapping in half.

Looks like Bermuda will have to eat a big part of the eye wall.

Yeah I just noticed the same thing. Went to check it and it now says it’s unavailable, so it must be some pretty strong winds

It is more intense than I expected. Latest wind report from the Bermuda Weather Service showed SUSTAINED 81mph winds gusting to 114mph. At least 80% of homes are without power at this point.

Station on the northern tip of Bermuda recorded 88G107 kt. Not sure of the elevation but still notable.

Amazing it's still strong as it is given the degraded structure; no doubt highly baroclinically driven at this point. Looks to be a much harder hit than I thought on Bermuda.

Not a meteorologist, in fact more of an idiot than anything. You should probably check with the NHC or a local NWS office for official information.

Probably Bermuda's most intense TC impacts since Gonzalo. Could also end up with a 1-2 punch like that and Fay depending on what happens with Jerry.

Most definitely the most intense TC since Gonzalo. I was here for both Fay and Gonzalo and they had nothing on the winds that Humberto bought along. My windows literally shaking at one point and I thought my doors were going to blow in. Thankfully winds have died down within the past hour and a half but all in all so far it’s ok.

Recon easily still supports a Cat 3
Extrapolated pressure is down below 951 and SFMR is still around 100 kt on the first eyewall pass

Winds have calmed down since an hour ago. Definitely a greater impact than anyone expected. It’s dark so I don’t know what the damage is like but I’ll give an update in the morning.
