Not enough drainage to handle 2 or 3 inches an hour for more than a day or so.
Hopefully not as bad as Harvey for Houston, Beaumont (flooding measured in feet) but I'm sure the streets are flooded.

Some areas have seen 10 to 15 inches of rainfall during the overnight hours, and a thick band of rainfall due to Imelda continues to saturate the area. It is showing no signs of movement for the next couple of hours.

It's flooding very bad in the Houston area right now, my street is completely flooded and high water rescues are happening all over the city right now especially north of I-10.

I pm'd her and heard yet. That is so bad. She just got finished with her house from the last time.

The road out of her neighborhood is flooded so they can’t leave. I’m able to text her. She is ok for now but stuck.

So how do they handle a mandatory evac? Take people out by boat?

The power went out overnight at my location. Imelda really needs to leave. Many homes nearby are flooded and it is still raining. So far, I have received around 30 inches of rain since yesterday morning. I hope the worst has passed.

Never expected another Allison/Harvey this week... the I name curse strikes again even on a 40mph tropical storm. We are rapidly running out of new I names with the constant retirement.

Not a meteorologist, in fact more of an idiot than anything. You should probably check with the NHC or a local NWS office for official information.

I haven't had a chance to follow the situation with Imelda. Is that 10 inches per hour correct?

yes in select areas. im afraid so, and if the gauges lag by any means, it could have been higher at times. when i tell you i could not see out my sliding back glass door. i mean all i see is fuzzy white grey, nothing else possibly visible. If you are blind and need contacts or glasses to actually see. It would almost be as if i took my glasses off. Terrible rainfall.

What a mess! They had school today then let them out early! That's more of a pain than just canceling to begin with. Today's threat really caught Houston off guard :x . Bless Beaumont and Winnie and places east.....
