It's legit. Very cold cloud tops over Gamma. Power of the W-Caribbean.

Caribbean magic strikes again.

The recent recon mission has found some evidence of 50kt winds around the center of the storm, as well as an enhanced band of around 45-50kt between the Island of Cozumel and the greater Yucatan Peninsula. Pressure also dropped 2mb between passes. Seems like the trend of storms intensifying until landfall (only bucked by Marco and Teddy) is going to continue.

Outflow from Gamma is taking out a big chunk of the dry air behind the front.

Not gonna lie, Gamma is looking pretty impressive at the moment, all things considered...

Impressive shape and outflow. Trying hard to become a hurricane before striking the Yucatan. Doubt it gets there.

A large, high-helicity hot tower has developed west of the CoC and is rotating CCW.

Wow Gamma looking very healthy this morning... Yet another storm strengthening before landfall... Cat 1 looks very possible at this point, maybe even likely

I am in no way a professional. Take what I say with a grain of salt as I could be totally wrong. Please refer to the NHC, NWS, or SPC for official information.

Wow, Gamma is impressive. Yet another victory for the HWRF — it got this exact structure right in yesterday’s 12z run.

Gamma’s incredibly deep CDO and much tighter pressure gradient suggests it would’ve been able to reach major hurricane intensity if it wasn’t about to run out of water.

I am only a meteorology enthusiast who knows a decent amount about tropical cyclones. Look to the professional mets, the NHC, or your local weather office for the best information.
