What's happening to Louisiana this year is like what happened to Florida in 2004.

If my memory is correct, 4 storms landfalled in Florida in 2004?...

NOAA2 taking off as well
The eye is also getting squished, possibly could collapse again like earlier tonight?

Could it just be clouds spreading over the eye at the top?
Edit. It does seem to be getting squished close.

Just 24 hrs ago a lot of New Orleans TV Mets were downplaying the threat from Zeta to Nola, saying how the worst was going to be well east of the city. Latest Euro shows wind gusts in the 90-100 mph range across the city, higher closer to 110mph SE of the city towards the Hancock County MS.

Hurricane Hunters will likely find a deepening system with the eye becoming symmetrical.

The eye is being eclipsed by the cirrus outflow of the vortical hot towers.
A sure sign of rapid intensification.
Seems to have worked out that slug of stable air I mentioned last night.

I hope you are wrong too. One of the local mets. was saying all day long and even into the evening Tues, that it would get hit by shear and lower water temps at landfall, and weaken to the point that it wouldnt be nearly as bad as Delta. I guess it just depends on who is listening and where they are located exactly. I just hope everyone is paying attention today, because if Im not mistaken Landfall will be sooner than what was forecast yesterday.
