Dang, she's over performing. Didn't expect a decent Cat 1 already...
It looks like the AL/FL coast is already under some strong convection. Are the conditions rough down there right now?

65 mph to 85 mph in under 2 hours. Holy ****. I think a major is not out of the question once Sally’s core-building is complete.

I am only a meteorology enthusiast who knows a decent amount about tropical cyclones. Look to the professional mets, the NHC, or your local weather office for the best information.

This is simply the direction and speed of the wind in the eye.

You look at radar and that center is once again at the fringe of convection, you have to wonder if it's going to get pulled back NE once again?

A much more symmetric wind field than I would have guessed just based on satellite/radar, though the SW quad is still slacking. Kudos once more to the flyboys/gals!

Big-ass feeder band kicking in now.
Going to look like a 850-lb shrimp.

Mmmm shrimp. Anyway, like I was sayin', shrimp is the fruit of the sea. You can barbecue it, boil it, broil it, bake it, saute it.
The uncertainty with this one is unnerving; for those in emergency management who are making decisions this has got to be frustrating as all get out.

Peak at 90 knots now expected.
100 knot landfall is definitely not out of the question.

My posts are my own personal opinion, defer to the National Hurricane Center (NHC) and other NOAA products for decision making during hurricane season.
Re: ATL: SALLY - Hurricane - Discussion

Raised the intensity even more. Now at 90 mph. Not good at all.
