Respect for that Recon crew, the Adrenalin must be off the charts inside that plane, wishing them the best

Just 10 more minutes until Eta’s true intensity is finally revealed...soon, we’ll likely have a new member in the Atlantic’s top 10.

I am only a meteorology enthusiast who knows a decent amount about tropical cyclones. Look to the professional mets, the NHC, or your local weather office for the best information.

Pressure gradient in the eyewall will be quite steep for sure...

I just got back in time for recon to get in this historic hurricane
. I didn't know where recon was and as I was scrolling down the page my heart rate was increasing because just looking at the imagery I know this is now a CAT5 easily, maybe beyond 160 knots and under 895 mb. My guess is 887 mb with 160 knot winds.

Next pass will be the big one. Huge pressure gradient.

My posts are my own personal opinion, defer to the National Hurricane Center (NHC) and other NOAA products for decision making during hurricane season.

There's literally no outer eyewall on the radar yet.

Great googly moogly
Only difference is the eye temps if there's something to point. Can't wait to see what the true eye temp is from recon.

So on satellite, I'd rate them Haiyan, Eta, Patricia, Wilma.

Well it's been a fun ride. Let's see what an 8.3 Atlantic storm in November has.
