And just like that the dry slot is gone. That was fast. I hope NHC goes Cat 2 at the upcoming advisory as it certainly looks like one right now

I am in no way a professional. Take what I say with a grain of salt as I could be totally wrong. Please refer to the NHC, NWS, or SPC for official information.

But there’s just enough to keep intensification going until tonight. I can’t wait until recon gets there.

I am only a meteorology enthusiast who knows a decent amount about tropical cyclones. Look to the professional mets, the NHC, or your local weather office for the best information.

Not a meteorologist, in fact more of an idiot than anything. You should probably check with the NHC or a local NWS office for official information.

Recon is already en route and should arrive at Epsilon within the next few hours, although it has quite a way to go; it’s at 75W while Epsilon is at 59W.

Bit of a stadium effect even. Phenomenal for a mid-latitude October storm.

This thing should be already a CAT 3 or better! Looks at the mesovortices inside the eye!

Exceeded my expectations. Enjoy it today because it'll start to falter later.

Epsilon is such a beautiful storm! I agree with those saying it’s likely much stronger than 85 mph. Wouldn’t be surprised if it’s close to major hurricane strength. I guess we will know soon!

ADT estimates have dropped to 965.8 mbar (970.4 mbar 2 hours ago) and 85 kts. I wouldn't be surprised if recon finds a high-end cat 2 or maybe even a low-end cat 3 by the time they get there. Whatever category it is, it sure looks like a beast of a storm. Definitely the most unique looking storm of the season.

Is it just me, or has Epsilon been moving more W/WNW instead of its forecasted NW/NNW?

NHC said that Epsilon took a westward jog.

Wow that storm is fantastic. I don't often see a hurricane with such a massive outer curved band
