It looks stalled. In my own amateur opinion, it may make the NE turn a tad early.

One of the Weather Channel reporters in Lake Charles is being photo bombed by a cat. Bets are on if he takes it home with him.

What is CCC-ish?

After googling tropical cyclone acronyms, it seems it's short for Central Cold Cover.

Just saw that. The cat is literally trying to crawl up his leg. He needs to rescue the cat. He seems very fond of him. Love it!!

It’s definitely not CCC-like. A CCC wouldn’t have an obvious eye on IR.

Well yeah it's not a 100% but the sharp convective pattern around the CDO or (whatever that is) resembles one. Just some personal observations, and its obviously a very formidable hurricane.

Someone needs to E-mail the Weather Channel and tell them it is now his cat and has a name.

I would agree if it looked like it was moving.

The NHC just told us it's moving at 12mph. big storms might can appear to lurch or briefly go stationary but 12mph is solid motion and that's a fresh off the press advisory.

So max sustained winds are back up to 120mph? So it should start to level off and weaken from here until landfall per nhc. Does anyone think further strengthening is possible?

I still think it could briefly get to Cat 4. NHC says in the disco that it has about 6 more hours before less favorable conditions take over.

Gonna rant and rave for a sec...

Ok, I realize our local meteorologist work their butts off. But man, I really wish they would give us more on camera "Ok Let me Explain this to you like you a toddler" updates  Even if to come on and say "Hey nothing has changed, watch the vid from such and such time when I explained it"

So many do not have the typical local TV stations like they used to. The websites and apps are so loaded down with ads, that cause major problems if you have poor service because the tower you normally use has been hit, or if the power is out and trying to conserve battery.

Facebook USED to be awesome during times like this..But they have fiddled with their algorithms so much trying to control what we see, that they are now basically useless! Scrolling through four day old weather reports during a Hurricane or God forbid a Tornado warning... is enough to make you throw your phone across the room! (Done it) Sure you can change your timeline setting to most recent...Then you have to scroll through endless Buy Sell Trade ads (Or is that just Me)??

Back when Facebook first got a bit tyrannical, I defended them left and right, because I was a part of helping organize hundreds of Cajun Navy rescues of people from their roofs during the 2016 floods, because 911 was swamped and rescue was taking over five hours! So we found the facebook posts of people crying for help and gathered their info for the heroes with the boats. Literally Facebook saved lives. And they broke it. :( Twitter is great for breaking info, but often its from far away sources.

So.... Since Im finished whining, I want to now say. GOD BLESS YOU GUYS HERE! Though most of the time the info is so over my head I have no clue what you are saying.. Eventually someone comes along and makes a comment that connects all the lost dots in my head. You guys are filling a massive info gap for many of us. And I cant thank you enough!

OK one last whine LOL Yall really need a hug smilie... Im southern and I hug ya whether you like it or not!

Stay safe everyone.

I saw that too. I was curious what others thought. Either way I think it’s going to be a very dangerous storm. The only upside is it shouldn’t stall so no 20+ inches of rain but the surge may be a big problem due to the size of delta.
