Recon has only 8 degrees of longitude left to go until it reaches Epsilon. I’m guessing they’ll find a pressure as low as the mid 960s.

I am only a meteorology enthusiast who knows a decent amount about tropical cyclones. Look to the professional mets, the NHC, or your local weather office for the best information.

Epsilon's possibly going to keep that hybrid look even at major hurricane strength (if it gets to that strength). I have a feeling that that structure would speed up extratropical transition. Speaking of it, phase diagrams predict a warm seclusion for future ex-Epsilon.

Epsilon is an underdog storm, what do you think about Epsilon?

Out of the 27 storms we’ve seen this season, Epsilon is the best looking one yet in my opinion.

Laura was for me, but this one is up there for sure. Teddy wasn't bad either

I am in no way a professional. Take what I say with a grain of salt as I could be totally wrong. Please refer to the NHC, NWS, or SPC for official information.

Hurricane Teddy was a stunner, Hurricane Laura nearly had a perfect circle shape, & Hurricane Epsilon is also a beauty.

Recon is at 63W and should start descending to operational altitude very soon.

Descent has begun. We should have data on the first center pass in the next 30-45 min.

I'm guessing we are going to see a really low pressure but a wind mismatch - something like the current NHC intensity (or a bit less) with a 955 mb pressure.

Wow, much stronger overall. That data supports an intensity of 95 kt.

Holy ****, it’s likely a major. Roughly 100 kt FL and SFMR with an extrapolated pressure of 958 mbar.

Not a meteorologist, in fact more of an idiot than anything. You should probably check with the NHC or a local NWS office for official information.

If you asked me this time last week which area would become a major — 94L or the WCar disturbance — I never would’ve said 94L...but it has greatly exceeded all of our expectations. This is going to be a nice ACE generator.

I predicted that if the Gyre failed to form, 94L had a good chance of being a hurricane.

Epsilon is easily one of the most fascinating major hurricanes of all time. May very well be the first ever major hurricane with a classic subtropical structure.
