Very interested to see the NHC's intensity forecast. If named by July 23, it'll beat Gert (2005) as the earliest 7th named storm.

EDIT: Corrected 8th to 7th.

My posts are my own personal opinion, defer to the National Hurricane Center (NHC) and other NOAA products for decision making during hurricane season.

How quickly things can turn in the tropics. And the Euro is showing another system behind this one.

Could we really be ahead of 2005 soon? Wow

NO I am quite lucid my friend. Just had a sticking of keys on my phone as I am away from my office at the moment. Glad you.found some humor in it with GCANE.

Well no big shock there. Still convinced it was probably classifiable at 11, but an afternoon of maintaining and increasing organized convection no doubt sealed the deal.

Not a meteorologist, in fact more of an idiot than anything. You should probably check with the NHC or a local NWS office for official information.

Not surprised at this point, but yesterday it looked like Seven might not really get anywhere. It'll be interesting to see if it keeps performing on the high end of expectations or not.

Reminds me of Danny in 2015. Probably has about 72 hours to do its thing before conditions fall apart, but the short term looks really conducive.

This isn't a good sign being the generally unfavorable background state and how far E SEVEN is.

Nice hot tower firing off at ~40.5W, just as the sun sets. Diurnal max will probably get this to TS status for 11pm.

I am only a meteorology enthusiast who knows a decent amount about tropical cyclones. Look to the professional mets, the NHC, or your local weather office for the best information.

This is getting ready to hit some very high oceanic heat content too.

55 kt peak for the first advisory. I wasn’t expecting the NHC to be that aggressive.

though it is a good deal bigger than danny... if it becomes a hurricane it will likely be a big harder to kill off.

if oyu sneezed to hard.. danny would have fallen apart. lol

I assumed I planned my holiday (started this weekend) too early to be TC tracking, but here we are!
The first ones are always attention grabbing, give it 2 months and if it's not a hurricane no one cares. :P
